In an effort to continue on my path to living more deliberately, I’m starting a new section of the blog. The germ of the idea came to me when I was volunteering for a non-profit organization by writing articles for their website. All of the articles were positive stories featuring kids or adults who were following their passions and making a difference in their communities. Each interview left me inspired and humbled.
So often it’s the loudest or angriest voices that get the most attention. Not here. This section is meant to be a repository for uplifting stories about everyday people who are quietly changing their lives by following a dream. Maybe you’ll be inspired to follow in their footsteps or share their stories with your friends. That’s why I’m calling this page SHINE. I hope it will spread some light and warmth.
There might be an interview or a Q&A or a photo essay. Maybe even a video now and then. Here are some of the stories that have appeared in SHINE. You can also find them in the drop down menu under the Shine heading.

Do you want to share your story? Do you know someone who is doing great things? It doesn’t have to be animal related. Maybe your neighbor gets up at 4:00 in the morning three times a week to volunteer at a soup kitchen. Or maybe your brother quit his secure 9-to-5 to become a trapeze artist. (You get the point.) Shine! shine! shine!

I love this! I will have time to peruse the section more later. In the meantime, have you heard of this company, The Newton Project… seems like something that may interest you… I think it’s a lovely business concept. http://www.thenewtonproject.com
Have a lovely day,

Thank you for mentioning The Newton Project. I’d never heard of it and I love being introduced to Shine-worthy programs.
